Ward is a suffix that turns up on Armor and Head. It gives Ward: +16 to +28 at its lowest step, +548 to +767 at its best — and you need item level 116 before the best one can appear at all.

It comes up at weight 6 when the game rolls affixes, never doubles up with another affix that does the same job (ward), and it is what puts Warding, Shielding, the Barrier, the Aegis and the Sanctum in an item's name — so you might pick up a Wand of Warding.

21 Uniques lock it to a fixed number: The Quiet Crown, The Anvil's Crown, The Deferred Crown, The Quarry Warden's Brow, The Tortoise Creed and The Owl's Verdict and 15 more.
